Voorhees Township School District board holds closed session on personnel; no public action taken

The Voorhees Township School District board moved into an executive session to discuss personnel matters and said it would not take public action at the meeting, the board secretary said.

The board secretary opened the meeting by noting that, "pursuant to the Open Public Meetings Act," public notice had been posted on May 14, 2025, on the district bulletin board, filed with the clerk of Voorhees Township, sent to the Courier-Post and posted on the Voorhees Township website. The secretary then called the roll; there were no public comments, and the secretary said, "The board will not take action this evening." Public comments had been limited to three minutes, the secretary said.

Board member Rudder moved to adjourn to executive session; Board member Rosner seconded the motion and the board voted in favor. During the closed session, the secretary said the matter involved "personnel issues, including but not limited to employment, appointment, termination of employment, terms and conditions of employment, evaluation of performance, promotion, or discipline of any public officers or employee." The board later returned to open session after a motion to do so passed, and the secretary announced there would be no additional business to conduct that evening.

No votes on personnel actions were taken in open session, and the board indicated members of the public would be notified later, "by letter, electronic mail, telephone, or in the context of a later board meeting," of any action the board does take, the secretary said.
