Carmel approves suite of IT and equipment contracts, including $1.13M networking upgrade

The City of Carmel Board of Public Works and Safety on July 2 approved several technology and equipment contracts intended to refresh aging infrastructure across city systems.
Kevin Cusimano, the city’s director of technology, told the board a master agreement with CivicPlus LLC for $82,932 will upgrade the City of Carmel’s web platform and tie into a recent 3-1-1 upgrade. “These two things will work together to improve the website for the City of Carmel,” Cusimano said.
The board also approved a $62,062 agreement with Forte Inc. to replace end-of-life Axis cameras in public-facing spaces; Cusimano noted the cameras typically have about a five-year service life. An $89,330 purchase with Fuller Engineering Co. was approved to provide Liebert PDX air-cooled units for the city data center, which support server-room environmental controls.
A substantial networking contract amendment with Insight Public Sector Inc. for $1,134,863.20 was approved to replace HPE Aruba network switches that the city said have an approximately five-year lifespan. The board additionally approved a $131,265 contract with NV5 Geospatial Inc. for CityWorks support, which covers an upgrade to the work-order platform and extra vendor support hours.
Board members moved and approved each item by vote. Staff said the purchases are part of routine lifecycle replacements and platform upgrades; no debates about funding sources or vendor selection were recorded at the meeting.
