Board approves MOU with Minnesota State University Moorhead for campus violence-prevention project

The Clay County Board of Commissioners approved July 1 a memorandum of understanding with Minnesota State University Moorhead to participate as a partner in a campus violence-prevention project. The sheriff told the board this is the county's third attempt to secure the grant with MSUM; MSUM would be the grantee and the employer of any funded staff.
If the grant is awarded, the county's role is to participate on a coordinated community response team and provide training and policy assistance; local law enforcement would assign a member of the investigations unit to serve on the team.
