Superintendent Wentworth told the board the Department of Education recommended that the district retain grantee status for the current year because it was too late in the grant cycle to transfer primary grantee responsibility. The district will receive the funds and transfer them to the Boys & Girls Club, which has agreed to redesign the budget to meet its staffing model and the $42,500 cap.
Staff said Emily (staff member) will prepare the budget on behalf of the Boys & Girls Club for this grant year and that the club will use existing staff where possible to avoid exceeding the cap. The board voted to approve the contract; members asked staff to clarify reporting responsibilities and to ensure the district does not incur additional costs while the club manages the program.
