Navigation Center secures new grant funding and hires intensive case manager

The San Juan County Navigation Center reported new grant funding and staffing to expand outreach and case-management capacity.
EHSD staff said they secured $100,000 from Anquorum Health Foundation via EnCorum after applying for $60,000; Behavioral Health Services Capacity (BHSC) funding was also extended for one year. The department has earmarked $500,000 of the combined funds for navigation-center operations; staff announced the hire of Jennifer Johnson as a 20-hours-per-week intensive case manager to provide follow-up for clients with complex needs. Staff described an early success: a client with severe substance-use issues who had been cycling through housing and treatment reported new motivation after engagement with the case manager.
Staff clarified the grant is fiscally administered through partner organizations (100% San Juan and the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico), not the county. The navigation-center team introduced staff members present at the meeting and said they plan to use the grant to sustain and expand client follow-up and support services over the coming year.
