The West Bend City Plan Commission voted July 1 to approve a land‑use plan amendment and a zoning map change for about 0.41 acres north of Highmount Road and on the west side of Stratford Road, changing the recommendation from industrial to single‑family and two‑family residential and rezoning from M‑2 heavy industrial and RS‑4 single‑family to RD‑2 two‑family residential.
Jim (staff) said the parcel is vacant and that sewer service has been extended to the area; water will be extended by the developer. Staff concluded the requested change would provide an appropriate transition between industrial uses to the south and single‑family neighborhoods to the north and poses no anticipated impact to adjacent parkland.
Action: The commission closed public hearings on both the land‑use amendment and rezoning and voted to adopt the resolution and approve the zoning map amendment; motions were moved and seconded and carried on voice votes. The matter will move to City Council for final action.
