Planning and Community Development staff told the Committee of the Whole they seek approval to renew or replace on‑call consultant agreements that provide transportation planning and engineering capacity. Francesca Liberty and transportation staff said the city has used on‑call consultant services since 2009 to augment in‑house capacity for bicycle facility design, traffic engineering studies, traffic modeling, transit planning and related tasks.
City staff recommended four firms for on‑call agreements for 2025–2027 (with a two‑year base term and an option to extend two additional years): DKS, FarronPeers, Parametrix and Somas, and named IDACS for traffic data collection services. Staff said existing on‑call contracts expire Aug. 31, 2025, and requested the committee place the item on the July 15 consent agenda to avoid gaps in services and ensure projects can proceed.
Committee members raised no objections and the item will be presented on consent July 15, staff said.
