Diaz said the curb has shifted from primarily parking to a contested public asset used for on‑demand pickups, commercial deliveries and multimodal needs, and that the plan will focus on Redmond’s three urban centers.
She said the consultant will use data from the parking study that the Planning Department is currently leading and that stakeholder engagement is included in the contract. Deputy Director Garcia and council members described the topic as "hot" for the council and supported moving the item to consent on July 15.
Committee members raised no formal objections; staff said they will include the agreement on July 15 consent and proceed with the consultant scope that includes community and stakeholder engagement.
