The Clinton County Area Plan Commission granted primary approval June 17 to the Ping Addition, a one-lot minor subdivision proposed by Sharon Ping, provided that outstanding covenant execution and signature issues are resolved.
Planner Liz Stitzel explained the parcel is a 2.817-acre first split from a 63.65-acre parent tract in Michigan Township. Staff said the lot scored sufficiently to be approved administratively rather than to go before the Board of Zoning Appeals, the health department approved septic suitability with a permanent drainage outlet shown on the plat, and the drainage board gave unanimous approval on May 6, 2025.
Stitzel told the commission county counsel and the surveyor identified that not all required property owners had signed the covenants and that a missing signatory needed to be added; she said the petitioner must secure execution by both the life-estate owner and the remainder-owner before secondary filing. The surveyor also provided a revised document for county review.
No members of the public objected. Commissioners moved, seconded and recorded roll-call approval. Staff said the administrative secondary filing will proceed once the corrected covenants are executed and acceptable to county counsel.
