Metro Parks staff requested approval of Amendment No. 3 to the Stones River Greenway — Opry Mills connector agreement (project ID 123110.01) at the July 1 meeting. The amendment extends the project completion date to June 30, 2027.
Staff said the proposed one-mile Greenway connection is consistent with the department’s Plan to Play and described the project as regionally significant, linking Donaldson, Hermitage, Pennington Bend and East Nashville with the Aubrey Mills complex in downtown Nashville. Staff recommended approval; the board voted to approve the amendment.
The staff presentation referenced federal project number TAP9312(118) and state project number 19LPLMF3153. Director Odom and the board said the extension will allow the project team to accommodate remaining work within federal and state funding timelines.
The motion to approve was moved and seconded and the board passed the amendment by voice vote. No additional funding changes were announced at the meeting.
