The Lawrenceburg Historic Preservation Commission approved a petition from the Redevelopment Commission to install a lighted sign on the facade of the Liberty Theater during its July meeting.
John Johnson, presenting on behalf of the Redevelopment Commission, told the commission, “If you flip through your packet here, what we're looking at for redevelopment is the Liberty Theater, and they're proposing a lighted sign for the face of that building. And the reason the redevelopment is presenting is because it's still redevelopment owned property.”
A commission member said they had checked with the electric department and that “this does stick out approximately 4 and a half feet, 5 feet. It will not interfere with the Christmas lights out front. We're good to go.” After a motion and second, the commission voted to approve the petition; commissioners responded “Aye.”
Commission discussion did not record additional conditions tied to the approval in the meeting transcript. The Redevelopment Commission representative handled the presentation; the vote as recorded in the meeting was in favor and the petition was accepted.
