North Bend council adopts 2026 tax budget as emergency; certifies submission to county auditor

The Village of North Bend council voted to adopt the 2026 tax budget by emergency resolution Monday and directed staff to submit the budget to the Hamilton County Auditor by July 20.
During the treasurer's report, finance staff said council had reviewed the packet prepared by "Mister Solomon" and that the adopted resolution would be filed with the county. "Council needs to approve a resolution adopting the 2026 tax budget as prepared by mister Solomon. It will be submitted to the Hamilton County Auditor by July 20," the treasurer said.
The treasurer also reported the village received a $103,000 second-half real estate tax advance: $60,000 to the general fund, $30,000 to fire and EMS, and $13,000 to the public safety fund. Council approved the emergency resolution to adopt the tax budget and dispensed with the requirement that the resolution be read on three separate days so the submission deadline could be met.
Council members moved and approved the emergency motion by voice vote. The village clerk was directed to finalize the paperwork and submit the certified tax budget to the county auditor.
