Local Eagle Scout Completes Fishing‑area Project at Town Beach

Nick Joannes, an Eagle Scout with Troop 247, told the Board of Selectmen he has completed his Eagle project: a fishing area adjacent to the town beach that includes an informational kiosk, a bench, three PVC rod holders and a PVC line‑collection station.
Joannes said community donors provided materials and funding, including Loudoun Building Supply, Leonard’s Plumbing and Heating, and K & M Drywall, and that town staff helped prep the site. “The town has received it very well,” Joannes said, noting social‑media responses of more than 400 likes and more than 100 comments on a community page.
Selectmen thanked Joannes and praised his presentation and project management. Town staff and the selectmen offered appreciation and wished him well in future endeavors. The scout provided photos to the board and said additional images are available on the community Facebook page.
