The Dothan City Commission approved two renewal agreements on July 1 between Rose Hill Senior Center and the Southeast Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission to ensure continued participation in senior employment and service programs.
Resolution 2025-155 renews the agreement to comply with the Center for Workforce Inclusion Senior Community Service Employment Program operated under Title V of the Older Americans Act. Resolution 2025-156 renews the agreement to comply with the Alabama Department of Senior Services senior community service employment program, also operated under Title V of the Older Americans Act.
Both resolutions were presented to the commission and approved by voice vote; the clerk recorded the motions as carried. No substantive debate was recorded on the audio; staff and the mayor noted the renewals ensure the Rose Hill Senior Center continues to meet federal and state program requirements and to receive related services and funding.
Why it matters: Renewal agreements maintain Rose Hill's eligibility to participate in senior employment programs that provide workforce and service opportunities for older residents, and they preserve the center's access to associated federal and state resources.
Looking ahead: City staff will execute the renewal agreements with the Southeast Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission and provide any required compliance reporting under the Older Americans Act programs.
