Committee hears ZOLL device demonstration; trustees ask about battery life and warranty

Trustees at the Tinley Park Committee of the Whole received a demonstration of a ZOLL device for the fire department and voted to forward the item to the Village Board on July 1.
Trustees praised the demonstration. Trustee Brady and Trustee Justin Mueller described the demonstration as impressive and said the device could reassure members of the public. A ZOLL representative answered technical questions: "The battery life while it's in use is a minimum of 30 minutes," the ZOLL representative said. He added that a battery at zero capacity will reach full charge in less than two hours and that the device and batteries carry a one-year warranty.
Trustees asked about delivery timing; a village attorney noted typical delivery time was 10 weeks but said he had sold a similar device to another department and received delivery in five days. Trustees suggested the department could display the device at upcoming community events such as National Night Out.
A motion to move the item to the Village Board was made and seconded; the roll call vote was recorded as unanimous and the motion carried. The Village Board will consider final procurement and any warranty or service arrangements.
