The Laramie City Council on July 1 approved Resolution 2025-57 to amend fiscal-year appropriations and accept a $24,000 grant awarded by the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).
City Manager (unnamed in transcript) said the grant will fund participation in an ICMA learning cohort focused on projects to increase economic mobility; Laramie's project targets increasing housing completions to improve homeownership affordability. The manager said the grant is fully reimbursable and requires no city match beyond staff time.
The manager said he brought Community and Economic Development Director Derek Taney and Assistant City Manager Todd Feizer into the project team and that staff attended an initial cohort meeting in Baltimore, reimbursed by the grant.
Councilors expressed support and recognition for staff. Councilor Bowling noted the council pulled the item from consent to highlight staff achievement.
The council voted 9-0 to approve the resolution and amend appropriations to recognize the grant revenue and authorize expenditures against it.
