Tooele County approves sale of 38 South Main to Friends of Switchpoint for $1.5 million

County Attorney Scott Broadhead explained the sale met statutory requirements for disposition of surplus property: the sale price meets or exceeds the average of two appraisals and the county met the 14-day public-notice requirement. Because the property’s value exceeds $100,000, the council was required to hold a public hearing before acting.
The council opened the public hearing; no members of the public stepped forward to comment. Councilman Kendall Thomas moved to close the hearing and then moved to adopt Resolution 2025-17; Councilman Eric Stromberg seconded. The council voted in favor and the resolution passed.
The county attorney noted the sale and notice procedures met applicable requirements and that the transaction may now proceed under the terms presented to the council.
