The Lewis County Board of County Commissioners on July 1 authorized four items related to the Chehalis River Basin Flood Authority: Department of Ecology agreements for program administration, a contract for installation of flood gauges as part of a flood-warning system, and contract renewals with SBGH (which runs the flood authority program) and West Consultants (which operates the flood gauge system).
Mindy Brooks, director of community development, told the board she handles the next four items and that Lewis County serves as fiscal agent for the flood authority program. Brooks described two items as Department of Ecology agreements โ one for the program itself and another for the flood-warning system/gauge installation โ and said the other two are amendments to re-up contracts with SBGH and West Consultants.
Brooks said these authorizations simply "authorize the director to sign the contracts." The board did not ask further questions and approved the deliberation slate, including these items, by a 3-0 vote.
