LEPC: local hazmat team responded to three incidents; county notes Tier II reporting increases and 11 emergency alerts this quarter

Randy Ocon said the Missoula‑hosted joint hazmat team had three responses since the last meeting, including two assists to Sanders County schools and a coordinated response with the civil support team. OEM also reported 11 emergency alerts issued from January through March, four of which were tests; the non‑test alerts included several missing‑child notifications and all subjects were located safely.
OEM staff reminded facilities that Tier II hazardous‑materials reports should be submitted via the ePlan platform; the county has received more Tier II reports this year than in prior years and uses the mapped reports to inform fire departments and hazmat teams about on‑site chemical inventories.
