Council appoints two members to Terrell Economic Development Corporation, retains former member as ex officio

Terrell City Council on July 1 appointed Kelly Lane and Travis Richards to the Terrell Economic Development Corporation and approved retaining Robert Messer as a nonvoting, ex officio member under the TEDC’s amended bylaws.
City Secretary Don Stahl explained that two TEDC positions were open because Terry Barber and Robert Messer had reached term limits. Councilmember Donna Renee Anderson moved to appoint Kelly Lane and Travis Richards and to name Robert Messer as an ex officio, nonvoting member under the TEDC bylaws as amended in 2019. The motion was seconded by Mayor Ronnie Velasquez and passed unanimously of those present.
Council also reviewed the zoning board of adjustment roster and postponed action on a separate vacancy for further consideration.
The TEDC appointments take effect immediately and are made under the authority granted in the TEDC bylaws and city appointment procedures.
