The City of Norman council on July 1, 2025, adopted resolutions extending appreciation to outgoing Mayor Larry Bridal and to Austin Ball for his service as Ward 1 council member. Both motions passed unanimously.
The resolution honoring Mayor Bridal notes his service as mayor from 07/05/2022 to 07/01/2025, his prior role as chairman of the finance committee from 07/05/2020 to 07/01/2025, and his service on the oversight committee from 07/02/2024 to 07/01/2025. The resolution credits Bridal with supporting public safety, advocating economic development, and championing quality‑of‑life initiatives such as parks and community programs.
Council members spoke in tribute to Bridal’s public service and encouraged continued civic engagement. The council also adopted a separate resolution commending Austin Ball for his service as council member for Ward 1; that resolution will be delivered to Ball by council staff since he was not present at the meeting.
Both resolutions were adopted by unanimous vote. Council members used the occasion to thank staff and volunteers and to urge residents to stay involved in local government.
