The School Town of Munster Board of Trustees voted to change the date of its regular July meeting from July 14 to July 7 during a special meeting where the board’s records showed four of five trustees present; the motion was recorded as carrying 5-0.
The timing change was approved after Board member Cinder moved, “I move to change the regular July 14 board meeting to July 7 as presented.” The meeting record does not identify who seconded the motion. The board responded “aye,” and the chair declared the motion carried 5-0.
Board officials also outlined public-comment procedures for regular meetings: there are two public-comment sections. Comments on action items must be submitted by noon the day of the meeting; general comments may be delivered on a card to Deb Hayes at the start of the meeting. Each speaker is limited to three minutes, and each public-comment section has a 30-minute total allotment.
During announcements, trustees said there will be an executive session on July 1 at 5:30 p.m. and reiterated that the regular board meeting date has been changed to July 7. Board member Schwartz moved to adjourn the special meeting; Zender seconded, and the motion carried 5-0.
The special meeting opened with a stated quorum and a roll notation that one trustee, Mr. John Castro, was not able to attend. The record shown during the meeting indicated four of five trustees present at the start of the meeting and reflected two separate 5-0 roll-call outcomes for the date-change and adjournment motions.
