The Board of Education authorized settlement of an Article 78 proceeding the district commenced in New York State Supreme Court, Suffolk County, bearing index number 608747 of 2025. The resolution notes the action was commenced against the East Islip Teachers Association and other necessary parties on or about April 2, 2025.
The board authorized execution of a settlement agreement and general release in accordance with its terms and authorized the board president to sign the settlement and the district's attorneys to execute any and all documents necessary to discontinue the action. A motion to authorize the settlement was made by Mike Dorgan, seconded by Chris Zachary, and carried on a voice vote.
