The council approved a $347,660 contract with Mark Johnson Construction to replace isolation valves at Lift Stations 40 and 41, a project staff said is needed so pumps can be isolated, pulled and repaired.
“Yes, sir. This project will replace 18 valves on 9 each on each of those stations. Right now, the pumps, cannot be pulled because the the isolation valves don't work,” a city presenter said. He added that the pump stations are currently on bypass pumping and the valve replacements will allow crews to isolate the pumps to perform repairs.
Staff said four bids were received and Mark Johnson was the low bidder. The project is funded through the 2022 B bond. Council members moved and approved the contract by voice vote.
No vote tally was recorded in the meeting transcript; the council approved the item by voice vote and the presenter indicated the funding source and bid process during his remarks.
