Selectboard endorses streaming for subcommittee meetings and asks staff to set booking process

One Selectboard member said it was “comical” that multiple groups had tried to meet at the same time and that committees should use the calendar system to book the room. Jim Hazard, chair of the Cemetery Trustees, said his trustees used the meeting system for the first time and it worked well: “It was so simple to use. We just got it working.” He added that residents had watched the meeting online and provided feedback afterwards, and that having streaming available aided minute-taking.
Board members moved and voted to encourage committees and departments to hold meetings in the town room when possible and to use the calendar system so meetings can be streamed. They asked staff to provide simple instructions for booking and streaming to reduce conflicts and increase public access.
The board instructed staff to follow up with guidelines or a formal Board of Selectmen policy if needed; no binding ordinance was adopted at the meeting.
