CLG update: Nantucket completes survey batches, promotes preservation education and flags federal fund uncertainty

Holly urged commissioners to register for webinars and said staff will document attendance in the CLG annual report.
On funding, Holly reported that Congress has approved a recent allocation to the Historic Preservation Fund but that the funds had not been released to state historic preservation offices. She urged advocacy to representatives and noted national conversations about possible HPF budget cuts and changes to historic tax credits. "There’s been pressure to our representatives to release that funding," she said, and she asked commissioners to stay engaged through preservation advocacy networks.
Holly described ongoing and planned survey partnerships: work with the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) and a reconnaissance survey in sections of West Monomoy/New Guinea conducted by university students. She also noted a pending RFQ and procurement revisions for a current fiscal‑year grant project; procurement issues delayed that contract award and staff plans to reissue the RFQ after receiving permission from MHC.
