The Kaneland Community Unit School District 302 Board of Education approved recommended policy reviews and updates provided by IASB and PRESS on first reading; the motion passed 7–0.
"As the board knows, we belong to PRESS, which is a service that provides us updates and recommendations related to board policy," said Dr. Rowan, the superintendent. Dr. Rowan told the board the district’s review cycle produced no substantive policy changes in the packet presented.
Board members were provided the packet in advance and had the opportunity to ask questions. The board approved the recommended policy reviews and updates on first reading by unanimous roll call (Cook—Aye, McCauley—Aye, Lawler—Aye, Stalcock—Aye, Mankivsky—Aye, Kliesner—Aye and Simmons—Aye). Members noted the approvals were part of the district’s routine review and monitoring cycle.
Because the updates were approved on first reading, they remain subject to the board’s normal second-reading and adoption process where applicable. The board will consider any additional input before final adoption where required by policy.
