The court approved two related actions: authorization to post and hire a coordinator to begin training ahead of the incumbent’s departure, and a budget amendment to transfer $29,348 from the county’s salary contingency line to cover the coordinator’s salary. Miss Hollis clarified the amendment covers salary only and does not yet include benefits or payroll taxes; those will be calculated later once a candidate is hired.
Why it matters: court staff told commissioners that failing to provide extended cross‑training has previously caused operational issues. The court said the measure is intended to preserve knowledge and avoid disruption in court services.
