The Montgomery Planning and Zoning Commission on July 1 administered the state oath of office to newly appointed commissioner Jeff Lazar and unanimously elected Commissioner Dan Gosdov as vice chairman.
The oath to “preserve, protect and defend the constitution and laws” was given under the authority of the State of Texas as part of the formal swearing-in for the seat identified as Place 5. Jeff Lazar then took his seat on the commission.
Later in the meeting a commissioner nominated Dan Gosdov for vice chairman; the nomination received a second and passed on a voice vote. The commission announced the vote as unanimous.
The actions fill routine personnel and leadership roles on the seven-member commission and will determine who chairs hearings and related procedural duties in coming meetings.
