Covington council introduces three rezoning ordinances to update official zoning map

The three introductions were: an ordinance to rezone Lot 1A, Square 2904 in the Division of New Covington from neighborhood commercial to institutional; an ordinance to rezone a 5.11-acre parcel in Section (Covington) from neighborhood commercial to community business district; and an ordinance to rezone a portion of property in Section 32, Township 6 South, Range 11 East from institutional to single-family residential.
The mayor called for a motion to accept the consent calendar that included the introductions; the council moved, seconded and approved the consent calendar by roll call. The items were introduced for later consideration and further matters in connection with each ordinance were reserved for subsequent meetings.
