The Agricultural Labor Relations Board met Monday, June 23, at 10:04 a.m., approved the minutes from its June 11 meeting and then recessed into closed session to consider pending case matters, the board said. The board returned from closed session at 11:56 a.m., and the chair announced plans to delegate chair duties to Board member Flores while the chair is on leave.
The action to approve the June 11 minutes was moved by Cynthia and seconded by Board member Hall; the board recorded a voice vote in favor. No members of the public were placed in the public-comment queue, and the board closed public comment before recessing.
Chair Hassid reminded participants that "we are not allowed to discuss, respond to, or hear any comments on pending case matters," and then turned the meeting over to staff to begin the closed-session recess. When the board returned, staff noted that Member Broad had joined during the closed session.
In announcements at the end of the public portion, the board said it would issue a notice by the end of the day about whether a scheduled meeting on Wednesday, June 25, would proceed; if that meeting is canceled, the next meeting would be Wednesday, July 9. The chair said they expect to hand over duties to Board member Flores "potentially today, potentially any day this week" while the chair is on leave.
The board adjourned shortly after the announcements.
