After reconvening from closed session, the board approved retirements, resignations, vacancies and the following new personnel recommended by administration: Erica Barrera Guerrero, second‑grade teacher at Dr. Lonnie Green Elementary; Melissa Sandoval, fifth‑grade teacher at Dr. Fermin Calderon Elementary; America Cordova, kindergarten teacher at Ruben Chavita Elementary; Gisela Faz, fourth‑grade bilingual teacher at Ruben Chavita Elementary; Jacinda Ibarra, math teacher for New Tech at San Felipe Memorial Middle School; Ruby Beltron, special education co‑teacher at Del Rio Middle School; and Diana Zamaripa Villareal, MAPS teacher at Blended Academy.
The board also approved Munilda Muquis Ortiz as dean of instruction at San Felipe Memorial Middle School; Mercedes Owen Zapata as principal at Buena Vista Elementary; and Alma Gavazos as principal at Lamar Elementary.
Administration presented a new job description and evaluation form for a disciplinary clerk (listed in the agenda), and the board approved those documents as recommended.
