The San Felipe‑del Rio CISD Board of Trustees approved an interlocal agreement on June 30 with the University of Texas at Austin to offer OnRamps dual‑enrollment courses during the 2025–26 school year.
District staff said the agreement covers two OnRamps courses: an Introduction to Geoscience (also titled "Earth, Wind and Science") and Discovery Precalculus (preparation for calculus). The district will pay a subsidized fee of $149 per student for course materials, technical support and professional learning; personnel said that rate is reduced from the normal $175.56. The agreement runs through Aug. 31, 2026.
The administration noted OnRamps uses face‑to‑face instruction supported by online materials and aligns each course with the equivalent at the University of Texas. The district credited local staff, including Lauren Cardenas, with strong support for the program and reported that many students receive dual credit through the OnRamps courses.
The administration recommended approval and authority for Superintendent Dr. Rios to sign the interlocal agreement. Mr. Galindo moved to approve, Mr. Webb seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
