Homewood City’s Public Works Committee voted unanimously June 30 to execute an amendment to a 2020 through-road agreement with Jefferson County that removes the Oxmoor Road segment between the tunnel and U.S. 31 from the county’s maintenance list.
Kale Smith explained that the original 2020 agreement listed several roads for county maintenance and that Oxmoor Road’s inclusion appeared to be a mistake; the county contacted the city to revise the agreement because the county plans projects on Oxmoor and does not currently perform maintenance there. The amendment corrects the 2020 map and exempts Oxmoor Road between the tunnel and U.S. 31 from the county maintenance commitment.
A motion to execute the amendment was made, seconded and approved by a recorded voice vote; the chair announced the motion passed 5-0.
