Finance committee approves additional consulting services for city hall and parking deck restoration project

The Finance Committee approved a change order June 30 for additional services from Hixson Consulting related to the city hall envelope and parking-deck restoration.
Staff said that during the restoration, additional issues came to light and the consultant developed itemized scopes of work for those items. The presenting staff member said the consulting services contract is intended to carry the project through to completion and noted the request does not require new funds because the work is budgeted. The superintendent reported that concrete work requires a 30‑day cure time and staff expect project completion by July 31.
A motion to approve the agreement with Hixson Consulting was made, seconded and approved by the committee by voice vote recorded as “Aye. 3 to 0.”
