The Northville Board approved a slate of personnel and contract actions at the June 24 meeting, including new teacher contracts, manual updates and leadership-level compensation alignment.
The board approved probationary teacher contracts for Megan Mazur (Winchester, first grade) and Maggie Parks (Hillside Middle School, visual arts) for the 2025–26 school year after administration described their qualifications and interview observations. Mr. Sumner presented details: Ms. Mazur holds an elementary degree and a master’s in reading and literacy; Ms. Parks completed student teaching at Hillside and presented a lesson during the interview process. The motions to hire both candidates passed unanimously.
The board also authorized administrative updates to two employee manuals through the 2025–26 school year: the Technology Operations and Food Service employee manual (TOFS) and the Office Support Personnel manual (OSP). The revisions were described as market-alignment adjustments to economic and non-economic terms; staff noted there are 73 employees covered under TOFS and 40 under OSP. The board approved the revisions.
Separately, the board approved non‑affiliated individual employee and Central Office Leadership Team (COLT) contracts and wage scales for 2025–26. Administration described these as individual contracts outside of bargaining units, intended to remain consistent with other negotiated groups; the board voted to approve them.
The board also approved the superintendent contract for 2025–28. Administration said the superintendent requested alignment of his compensation approach with other bargaining units and non‑affiliated contracts; board members noted alignment sends a consistent message district-wide. The motion carried with no recorded opposition.
During the discussion board members thanked staff for the information and noted the importance of these roles to daily operations. All personnel and contract motions approved during the meeting were carried by voice vote with no board member recorded as opposing on the public record.
