Kate Becker and other staff said the vendor provides monthly usage statistics and that staff will use the tool internally to identify convoluted or unclear content on the website that may need rewriting.
Commissioner Newton made the motion to approve the agreement in the amount of $5,000 to come from the non-departmental fund; Commissioner Fackrell seconded. The motion passed on an affirmative voice vote.
Staff noted the one-year pilot will allow the county to evaluate whether the tool improves public access and reduces staff time spent answering repetitive queries. The contract length was described as one year so the county can reassess and renew based on performance metrics.
