Developer updates DDA on Woodland Station progress; DDA told CDOT grant request withdrawn

A Tava Group representative updated the Woodland Park Downtown Development Authority on construction progress for the Woodland Station project, reporting that framing of the second floor, roofing over the event center and the fireplace stack are complete or underway and that the elevator shaft will be finished next week.
Mark Weaver (Tava Group) told the board the grease trap and utility connections are scheduled and that the project remains on track for a March opening next year. He also said Tava Group has withdrawn a previously submitted request for CDOT grant funds and that the company is considering a tax-increment financing (TIF) approach instead.
Weaver said the construction team must issue a CDOT bid package so roadway improvements can start, "hopefully, in August, September," and that potential delays at Bergstrom Park could affect scheduling; he added that the Bergstrom Park discussion is a city property matter and that the historical society and parks and rec may influence final decisions.
Weaver encouraged the public to promote a July 5 event, saying ticket sales should pick up as weather and publicity increase; he estimated "several thousand people" could attend. The board and staff asked for follow-up on the CDOT bid timetable and any dependencies between Bergstrom Park decisions and road work for the project.
