Members of the Morristown Shade Tree Commission urged the council on Tuesday to adopt the town’s Community Forestry Management Plan, a five-year strategy they said is the product of extensive work across commissions and municipal departments.
Jonathan Kim, a member of the Shade Tree Commission, told the council he strongly supported the plan and described it as "the product of several hours of work" and collaborative planning. Kristen Ace, who said she represents the Morristown Shade Tree Commission, told the council the commission consulted Town Engineer Anthony DiVizzio, Department of Public Works supervisor Joe Curlo, and Town Administrator Jillian Barrick while preparing the plan and urged unanimous council approval.
Commissioners characterized the CFMP as a multi-year roadmap describing current work, future priorities and partnerships. They requested the council "unanimously vote this in" so the commission and municipal partners can proceed with implementation steps.
