The Santa Fe City Council on June 30 approved Amendment No. 2 to the professional services agreement with Hoch Zoller Inc., extending the term through June 30, 2026, to continue design of the Environmental Services Division administrative offices and maintenance facility.
Karen Gross, Public Works project manager, told the council that the design work began several years ago and that a prior amendment added scope for an access road and extended the contract. After discussion about potentially changing the building location and a change in staff leadership (the staff member who had been leading the process retired), the Environmental Services Division requested facilities staff to resume progress and asked for a contract extension to continue design work at the originally selected site.
Gross said the extension will allow the consultant to continue design tasks. Councilors voted by roll call to approve the amendment; the motion passed with all members present voting in favor.
Staff said the amendment keeps the project on the originally selected site and restores momentum after the recent staff transition. The city will continue reporting design progress to the council as the work proceeds.
