Flagstaff’s transportation liaison reported that Mountain Line will implement its largest fixed-route service expansion on July 27, extending hours and adding service on the Woody Mountain corridor; paratransit service hours are scheduled to expand in parallel.
Lorena, the commission’s transportation liaison, said the July 27 changes are confirmed and that paratransit service will be adjusted to match longer fixed-route hours. “When fixed route phases in, all our longer service hours, that will be immediately complemented,” she said, describing coordinated scheduling between fixed-route buses and paratransit services.
Lorena also reported ongoing coordination with ADOT and local partners to place stops along West Route 66; some South Side stops will not be served immediately because sidewalk and connectivity work remains to be completed. She encouraged stakeholders to review the new ride guide once published and said stop availability in some locations will depend on partner projects and fall infrastructure work.
The liaison announced the grand opening date for the Downtown Connection Center: August 6. She said a public ceremony and facility open house are expected around that date and that staff will share details when available.
Commissioners and staff discussed outreach and accessibility at bus stops, and urged continued work to ensure stops are physically accessible and connected by sidewalks. The transportation liaison said a coordinated mobility council meeting is scheduled for August 22 and invited commission members to request more information from staff.
No formal commission vote was required for the transit update; the liaison asked the commission to note the dates and to engage on accessibility around new stops as work progresses.
