Tiffin City Schools issues RFP for southern property sale; proposals due July 7

Tiffin City Schools announced that it has submitted a request for proposal (RFP) for auction services to support a planned sale of district-owned land in the southern part of its jurisdiction, with proposals due by the end of day Monday, July 7.

Board members and administrators said the district’s media release for the RFP will be issued Wednesday and that the process is intended to engage business partners to select an auction vendor to lead the sale. School leaders characterized the land sale as a multistep process that will take time and will require further board consideration as proposals and recommendations are received.

At the meeting, district staff said the board previously paused certain land-sale requirements and is now collecting proposals to determine how best to proceed. The announcement framed the RFP step as one of several procedural hurdles the district must clear before a final sale; no sale price, buyer, or firm selection was announced at the meeting.

Board members emphasized that the timeline is only for vendor proposals; additional public notices, board reviews and approvals will be required before any property transfer. The district did not provide figures for expected proceeds or an estimated closing schedule.

Next steps noted by staff include evaluating submitted proposals after the July 7 deadline and returning to the board with recommendations. No formal motion to approve a sale or to accept a particular bid was made at the meeting.
