Wantagh honors student musicians at June meeting; district recognizes retiring teacher aide

The high-school wind ensemble earned gold with distinction; Jones explained that "with distinction" denotes high marks across tone, technique, interpretation and musical expression.
The superintendent also announced that Sue McKenna, a teacher aide at Wantagh Middle School who has served roughly 20 years in the district’s special education program, submitted a resignation for the purpose of retirement; trustees and administrators thanked McKenna for her service.
