Board approves small increase to Perfection facilities contract; district and contractor outline software, staffing and construction updates

At the June 24 Greater Clark County School Board meeting, district staff and Perfection representatives described ongoing construction work, a new facility-management software onboarding, and requested an amendment to the existing facilities-management agreement. The board approved the requested amendment in a voice vote.
Perfection representatives and district staff detailed that the district is implementing a commercial facility-management platform to digitize building assets and improve work-order efficiency. “This contract will allow us to never be in that position again,” said Alex Hunt, introduced by presenters as a liaison between construction and on-site trades. Hunt told the board the software will map assets, floor plans and maintenance histories so future staff “will know where every shutoff valve is, every electrical box, at what breaker goes to which box” with “the click of a button.” Christopher Kenny, a mechanical engineer on Perfection's team, said the platform will support preventive maintenance and controls integration.
District staff sought and the board approved an amendment to the five-year Perfection facilities-management contract to add staff and services tied to new buildings and summer work. Staff described the amendment as increasing the contract by $49,008.83 while Perfection continues to guarantee estimated operational savings of more than $346,000. The requested additions include two custodians for two new elementary schools, one floating FTE to cover vacancies and events, one floor-cleaning specialist to support expanded floor-care needs, and an additional maintenance position. Staff emphasized these requests respond to new building square footage and operational needs.
Construction updates presented included roofing replacements, ongoing work at Jeff High and Charlestown High, nearing completion of roofs at Pike and Parkwood elementaries, and the natatorium roofing scheduled to start soon. Perfection representatives said move-in activities for several new schools are largely complete and that old buildings are being cleared for demolition; they noted a projected several-month timeline before all parking and staging areas will be finished.
A district representative moved approval of the contracted amendment and a second was recorded. The board approved the amendment by voice vote; no recorded nay or abstention was noted in the public transcript. District staff said after the vote that Perfection will continue to assist with utility-rate negotiations, controls upgrades and other efforts intended to reduce operating costs.
The amendment was an approved contract modification; staff said further implementation details and staffing assignments will be handled administratively between district operations and Perfection.
