Christian County commissioners approved using a City of Springfield cooperative procurement to contract with Pitt Technology Group for communications-system services and cabling. Purchasing Manager Kim told the commission, “So this is, the city of Springfield competitively bid a contract for communications, systems, service, and cabling. Our CCIT would like to use that contract. It is with Pitt Technology Group.” Kim said Springfield’s bid includes cooperative language allowing other governmental entities to piggyback on the contract and that the county expects better pricing because of Springfield’s larger project volume.
Kim said Christian County already has an existing contract for help-desk overflow with the same vendor family but that the proposed contract would cover wiring and equipment purchases: “we already have a contract with [a help-desk vendor], but that is for our help desk for overflow for help desk. So this would be a different [contract].” She added that because the county has ongoing monthly services with the vendor, that familiarity should speed installation and troubleshooting.
Commissioners discussed standard contract terms and pricing structure. Kim described the agreement as including billed labor hours and a percentage-based component for goods such as cable and equipment. During the discussion a figure of "$70.26" was mentioned; the transcript did not specify whether that figure referred to an hourly rate or a unit price.
Presiding Commissioner Lynn Morris moved to approve the contract to utilize the City of Springfield cooperative contract with Pitt Technology Group. The motion was seconded, put to a voice vote and passed.
