The resident said: "If you press the button, the lights flash so that you can see it from far away. But if you don't press the button, it's just a walkway. The state law is if you're in a walkway, cars are supposed to stop. To get rid of the confusion ... if we just put a stop sign or sign in the middle ... it would let people know, like, if somebody even near there, we could stop to let them go."
