Troy Council unanimously ratifies clerical police union contract with MAP

Troy City Council on June 30 approved a new collective bargaining agreement with the Michigan Association of Police (MAP) covering clerical employees in the Troy Police Department.
City Human Resources Director Jeanette Minnick and Deputy Human Resources Director Jennifer Lee introduced the ratification, saying the agreement includes modest adjustments to pay ranges and classifications, annual wage increases, a one-time lump-sum payment this year for about half the unit and updated administrative language. Minnick said city management supports the ratification and thanked both negotiating teams for using an interest-based negotiation approach.
The council unanimously approved the motion to ratify the MAP contract. Council member Chanda moved the resolution and Council member Chamberlain Krenge supported it; the clerk recorded all aye votes. The agenda packet lists the final contract text as the version approved by the council.
The agreement affects clerical staff assigned to the police department and will be implemented through the Human Resources and Finance departments. City staff said the contract updates are limited adjustments rather than major structural changes to classifications or benefits.
Council members did not request additional amendments during the meeting and city management said they would answer any follow-up questions after the meeting.
The council moved on to the next agenda item after the vote.
