MADISON — At a special-call meeting June 30, the Madison County School Board voted 5-0 to rescind its prior shared services agreement (memorandum of understanding) with Jefferson County and returned three positions — transportation, exceptional student education (ESE) and human resources — to Madison control.
Board member Miss Knight moved to rescind the earlier agreement; member Nolan Boyd seconded the motion. Chair (unnamed) announced the vote as "5 0 in favor." The board had no other formal motions on the amended agreement during the meeting.
The vote came after discussion about differences between Madison’s approved ESE job description and language Jefferson County inserted into an amended agreement.
