Muscatine County supervisors voted unanimously June 30 to approve plans, specifications, the form of contract and a cost estimate for maintenance work on the Muscatine County Community Services building.
The work targets deferred exterior maintenance and water infiltration problems, county project lead Mike Nolan told the board during a public hearing. The package includes rebuilding an entry ramp and railings, selective stone replacement and repointing, replacement of shifting granite stair treads with new concrete and railings, excavation and waterproofing at a back-corner loading-dock area, installation of a drain tile to daylight, and rooftop and parapet repairs. Nolan described interior repairs to damaged drywall, paint and plaster where water has affected finishes.
