District updates on early‑admission and transition kindergarten: requests, tuition and likely phase‑out

Transition kindergarten is in its second year in the district with two classes offered this year. The program carries tuition of $5,700 for the year (180 school days) and families must provide transportation. Staff said the district expects not to be able to offer transition kindergarten next year because of space constraints and that families have had two years to adjust to the new start date; administrators also noted rumblings that state rules allowing early admissions may be phased out in 2027.
District staff said they will provide final enrollment numbers when transition class rosters are settled. Trustees asked clarifying questions about process, evaluation and how the district will communicate changes to families.
